I had the misfortune of buying the Calcutta Telephone Directory on CD. It is not windows based-it is dos based and the entries are not complete. DoT wants to swindle us!

It is not that the DOT is swindling, but according to what i gather from the sources is that the developers have swindled and given them a sub-standard product. Which DOT did not bother to verify. It was the developers job to enter the data concerned and it was also their job to design the database structure so that the access is fast and easy. But by the looks of it, they just completed the job to deliver the product without any concern about quality. The way the data has been represented is bad to say the least. They should have considered the fact that the numbers of record would be phenomenal. Though we can say that DOT should have taken care before releasing the product. Do we need say anything else ?
